Hema is a social, rural and
development research expert, published author,
and entrepreneur, with over 25 years of research
experience. She has a Postgraduate Diploma in
Business Administration (PGDBA) from the Indian
Institute of Management Ahmedabad, and a
bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Xavier’s
College, Gujarat University.
Over the course of a rich
career, she has led a wide variety of social and
rural research projects across the length and
breadth of India, and in countries in all

Satyam is a co-founder and
director at Barometer Research. He has led a
number of qualitative and quantitative research
projects at Barometer, covering issues including
(but not limited to) public health, education,
low-cost housing, investor-perceptions,
micro-finance and social network analysis.

Prior to co-founding
Barometer Research, Satyam spent over eight
years in the world of brand management including
market research, new product development, and
advertising - across the developing and
developed worlds, at S.C. Johnson in the Unites
States of America and Colgate-Palmolive in
India. Satyam has an MBA from The Johnson
School, Cornell University, and a Bachelors
degree in Economics from Hindu College, Delhi
